Hello MES Families! It is my honor and privilege to serve as the principal of Maysville Elementary School this year. I am a native of Jackson County and graduated from the school system in 1995. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Education, a Master of Arts, and a Specialist of Instruction from Piedmont College. I obtained my Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at Keiser University. I taught in Georgia for ten years before becoming a military wife. I then had the pleasure of serving as a classroom teacher, gifted teacher, and instructional coach in Tennessee, Colorado, and North Carolina. After my husband retired, we moved our family back home to Jackson County where I became a teacher here at MES. I served the Jackson County School System as Math Specialist and Curriculum Coordinator for five years prior to becoming the principal at Maysville Elementary School in 2022.
I am excited to be back at MES serving alongside this amazing staff who truly believes in focusing on the whole child. We are privileged to have the opportunity to impact our youngest learners each day, and create amazing experiences during their educational journey! We want our students to love coming to MES and to build confidence as they explore their individual interests and talents. Our families are the heart of MES and we are blessed to have the opportunity to work with respectful, considerate, and caring children each day!
We look forward to partnering with you!

Hello Maysville Eagles! I’m honored to be part of a school community known for academic excellence, strong student support, and meaningful family involvement.
With more than a decade of experience in education, I’ve had the opportunity to serve in a variety of roles that have shaped who I am as an educator and leader. I began my career as a paraprofessional and have since worked as a homeroom teacher, Early Intervention teacher, Special Education teacher, and Specials teacher. I've also served as a Graduation Coach and, most recently, as a Behavior Specialist.
These diverse experiences have allowed me to connect with students from all walks of life. Whether I’m supporting struggling learners, helping students navigate challenges, or leading school initiatives, I’m driven by the belief that every student has potential. My goal is to equip them with the skills, mindset, and support they need to succeed in school and pursue their dreams beyond the classroom.
Each of my previous roles have deepened my understanding of the needs of students and families, and reinforced my belief in the importance of strong relationships and high expectations for all learners.
As part of the Maysville community, my focus is to support students, families and staff in building a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where every child can thrive. I’m committed to working alongside our teachers and leadership team to make sure each student at Maysville has the tools and encouragement they need to grow both academically and personally.
I’m grateful to work with such a dedicated staff and supportive community to make that vision a reality every day at Maysville Elementary.
