JCSS BOE Named Exemplary Board For Third Consecutive Year

Board of Education named Exemplary Board

The Jackson County Board of Education has once again been named an Exemplary Board by the Georgia Schools Boards Association. The Exemplary Board Recognition is the highest level of achievement in the GSBA's recognition program. This marks the third consecutive year the JCSS BOE has earned the honor.

The Exemplary Board recognition shows the Board's commitment to effective governance, in conjunction with Superintendent Dr. Philip Brown, along with the continuous improvement, transparency and collaboration that lead to fostering strong schools and maximizing opportunities for students throughout the county's largest school system.

School boards must meet specific rigorous criteria to earn the Exemplary Board honor, which ranks ahead of Quality Board and Distinguished Board recognitions. The Jackson County Board of Education is composed of Ricky J. Sanders, Lynne Massey-Wheeler, Melissa Mullen, Beau Hollett and Rob Johnson.
