Gum Springs Elementary School and Maysville Elementary School have been named PBIS Distinguished Schools by the Georgia Department of Education. PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention Systems and the distinguished honor recognizes schools within the state of Georgia who meet all five data categories set out by the state. Those categories include, but are not limited to, reducing office discipline referrals, in-school suspension and out-of-school suspension rates.
